Looking for a low budget laptop for a 10 year old boy

Wife wants to get my son a laptop for his 10th birthday. Don't want to spend a lot( under 150 ) due to him being 10.

Mainly be used for his science related projects, he received a microscope that required a computer to use and the desktop we have would be a bit of a hassle. Might be taking it outside for use with the scope.

Thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.

Ebay has a bunch of old dell laptops. Try looking for at least a 3rd gen core i5 model with at least 4gb of ram. A dell latitude e6420 is a good reference but there are hundreds of different itterations of it. Most likely you will need to get a new battery unless stated that the battery still works like new.
