Question Looking for ac power cord from internal power supply to case.

Custom modding a SFF case and need a longer power supply cable than the case came with. I have searched all over and only found a few from China and the angle plug to the PS is just to tall. Current cable is just over 15" long, 400mm, need minimum 500mm, better yet would be 600mm.

If I cannot find a longer one that fits I will cut and paste the one I have and make it longer since I can section it easily.

Just in case anybody is concerned about modding the stock cable, I was a union electrician and spent 20 years in high end electronics in the US Navy so I know what I am doing and it would be safe.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Why not fabricate a cable for your PSU? You can sleeve it as well.

I could fab one as long as I can find a low profile angle plug to go into the PS.

Or even hard wire the PS end if no plug available.

You you are pretty better off just modifying it yourself, or use some sort of extention cable to extend the short one if your not comfortable splicing wires together. I know I'd just personally extend it, I'd rather not hardwire it, voids warranty and if I need to replace it or upgrade it later, you can.

Yep, going to extend it, got to dig up some nylon sleeve and heat shrink out of storage. I like to silver solder connections but in this case I think I will crimp them, I have bare round crimps, stagger the connections then use two layers of heat shrink over each connection, sleeve the whole cable and heat shrink next to the plugs. I hope I have waterproof heat shrink in the right size but regular will be fine as well.
