Question Looking for IT Guy Utility Software

The building i work in has 4 floors and over 400 PCs and Printers within cubicles and offices. Is there a software that i can use like a Geo-mapping tool, to select a location on a floor plan that would show me the location within the building and the PC and its peripherals attached to it, Serials and all?

Someone has to prepare such a database, and put locks on equipment so that nobody can move it

As for an "utility": Get a floor plan, put it as a background in eg PowerPoint, and put your info on top of it. That way you can search as well.

We had nothing like that.. Just a spreadsheet with a Location ( x floor and x User Job Title )

That IS what the last guy was using.

There isn't a mapping tool that can designate "This IP address is at this desk".
You'll have to walk around and do that manually.
