Ya the first one was one of the best stories I've ever played/heard.

As far as Fallout 3 is concerned, I usually cannot stand apocalyptic anything but I was very impressed with how attractive the ugliness was, especially in Megaton during the evening.

Fallout 3 is a little ugly like, but what can you expect from a post apocalyptic theme. It was nicely done though. Although I did find it a little harder to play than most other RPG games.

tried to buy fallout 3 yesterday from cex (£5!)
they wouldnt let me because its an 18 and i didnt have ID 🙁 (kinda strange i brought bioshock two from them and thats got a big 18 on it)

I was actually thinking, if anybody knows of a half decent looking RPG with an EPIC storyline, LET ME KNOW. I liked Dragon Age and other than that I haven't found one that I truly love. I have a ton of time clocked in Skyrim but that was for the visuals and the sake of completing quests. Great game but lacked a bit in storyline.

witcher series, if you havent yet, play em. first still holds up and they natively run in surround. witcher 1 though, if you do play it lower lighting in surround to get cut scenes to work. played the first a little over a year ago, its what got me into pc gaming

I couldn't get into Witcher 1, but Witcher 2 was one of the best storylines I've come across, especially considering how truly dynamic the story was. I played it on my gaming laptop when it came out but I'm interested in seeing how it runs on my new computer and how much the story changes with new content.

I always wondered about Drakensang. I've read that it's one of the more underrated RPGs.

I read that the first Drakensang was really good but didn't feature too much voice-over; is this true? What about River of Time?

I'm no expert on drakensang, I've only tried river of time on a friend's computer once for about an hour. It was well made, the graphics were good, but I don't recall how much of a voice over it had. I think it's underrrated because the developer for the game is not a big company so it doesn't see much advertising to make it sell well and then procure a better budget for the next game so they can do better voice overs. As far as the story goes, I believe it's based on some books, which are very good from what I've heard. Again, I personally haven't read/played any of them in length, but if you're looking for RPGs with squad based system ala NWN then it might a good series to poke at :)

I started on NW2 a few years ago but I had to leave for a few months and when I got back I completely forgot how to do pretty much everything. I beat Witcher 2 on my Asus gaming laptop but I set the graphics to medium. With everything maxxed, except ubersampling, I have the game averaging around 90 fps with two gtx 680s in sli. I think it may be the most beautiful game I've ever seen. It's kind of funny how I find myself eager to make the same decisions I made before some of the time but others, when I know the outcome I go a different direction. Additionally, I tended to lean towards Roche during the first playthrough but now I'm trying to be empathetic toward the elves.
