Hi everyone, last night after swapping out my old 770 for a new 970, my Seasonic G 550W PSU died (paperclick test shows it works half of the time). Not sure if I did something wrong, but guess it's time for a new one.

My current plan is to get the Corsair CX750M from Best Buy for ~80 bucks, but I just looked at the PSU tier list and it's only tier 3. Is there a better PSU that you guys would recommend in the same price range? Anything under 100 would be great, thanks!

Just going to note that since he's overclocking and has a great many extras, I'd look to more of a quality power supply than the above suggested. EVGA sells EXCELLENT power supplies. This is NOT one of them. EVGA does not make their own supplies, rather they sell what they're sent by vendor partners. Their NEX series supplies are made by HEC, which in no way would I associate with quality.

If you're going to go the EVGA route, look into B2/G2/P2 units which are mostly made by superflower. Or otherwise go with seasonic as they make by far the most consistently solid units, or XFX as seasonic makes their units.

Thanks! Is my mistake stressing my Seasonic G 550W with too many components? It was supposed to be a tier 2 PSU... Would stepping up to a 750 or 850W help in my case?

I found a few going through your recommended brands, which one would you recommend?
