I have an i7-4770K that I plan to overclock and use for gaming, but don't know what motherboard to choose. I have a AMD 7870 Ghz Edition, and soon I will upgrade to a single 7970/GTX 770. What I am looking for is a motherboard that:

  • -Has a easy to use BIOS that I can use to overclock memory/cpu/gpu, control fans, and have lots of options to modify everything that can be changed
    -Has a Z87 Chipset
-Is well made, reliable, and will last a long time
-Has a good audio and LAN controller
-Is at or below $175, with max budget $200

My top choice now is an Asus Z87 pro, but I also considered the Gigabyte Z87 UD4H and MSI Z87 GD-65. What bran/ and board would eb the best for my needs? Thanks for any and all help.

Top of your budget, but for the money the Asus Hero is the best I've come across, looked hard and had over 20 Haswell builds before deciding on it - will take anything I throw at it, which is a lot, else might step down to the Asus Z87 Pro - Asus seems to have the best handle on the Z87 chipset

will do... and since you guys seem to know much more than me, will an EVGA 650w SuperNOVA PSU have enough amps to power a large graphics card like a gtx 680/780? Also, i have seen that some GPUs like the 7870 Ghz use two power connectors. Will that power supply have enough connectors (2x6 pin) for a 7870?

Thanks for the PSU options, I am going to go with the SuperNOVA 750W because the most graphics cards I plan to have are a single gtx 770 or 7970. Also, I know I am all over the place with questions in this thread, so please humor me: Will I see any performance or features upgrade when going to an Asus Maximus VI Hero ($200) from a Asus Z87 Pro ($180)? I plan to overclock an i5 4670K to 4.5 Ghz and use the computer for gaming.
