Looking to buy 5.1/7.1 Surround Gaming Headset

Hey guys, I am looking forward to buy 5.1/7.1 gaming headset for my PC. My motherboard is GigaByte Z87XOC and it has 7.1 Channel right ?
So, which brand should be good ? Logitech or Razer or Roccat ?
And what is the difference between discrete sound and virtual sound ? And which brand should I go for ?
I will be using it for online gaming.

I would go with a Corsair Vengeance headset, either the V2100 if you want wireless, or the 1500V2 if you want wired. They both are the same besides wired/wireless.
