I am currently running a 3 year old IBuyPower Prebuilt PC that has an i3 3220 CPU, a NVIDIA GeForce GT 610 GPU, and a 300 Watt PSU. I have a budget of around $500-$600 max depending on how much i get for christmas money. I currently play Counter Strike Global Offensive mostly, I also play Arma 2 and 3 and a little Minecraft. Once i am able to run higher end games i would like to get farcry, fallout 4 and battlefield 4 and be able to run at a decent framerate at 1920x1080.
Thanks
-Kenny

The 3220 is still a fairly decent CPU mate for gaming.
You're very likely on a h61 board which means CPU wise you could go with any sandy/ivy brisge i5/i7 if you can find one at a decent price.

However just dropping a new PSU & GPU in there will let you play newer titles pretty well.

You can do a gtx 960/r9 380 + a 550w PSU for under $250 - just depends if you'd like to blow the whole budget or not in one go.

I have a socket 1150 i5 4460 with a GTX 970 and its great, just played alien isolation yesterday finally at max at a constant 60 (though the anti-aliasing in that game is rubbish).

You could go for a Intel i5-3330 but its not really much of a step up to be worth the cash. The only real step up would to get one of the brand new powerful CPU's which is a big step up but their pricey and require a new MOBO, not even I would get one for a long time.

I would just say get a
-SSD for the OS
-GTX 960 (High / just manages Ultra 1080p) or 970 (Ultra 1080p)
-550w PSU
