I've done a system restart after installing windows 10. However I've lost a big amount of space on my harddisk and I don't know how to get it back. I've looked at other threads on this website but couldn't find a solution.

Here are two images, one you can see there is enough space, another saying there is no space.

What can I do to get back the space?

Thank you in advance

Have you tried doing a disk clean up?

In Windows Explorer, right-thinking on the C: drive and choose properties.

One of the tabs that appears has a Clean Up button. Press that to start disk clean up. There is a button that allows you to delete old system files (I can't remember exactly what the button is off the top of my head, sorry).

You might find that there's a lot of space used by previous Windows installations or something.

Hmm. I see something strange is going on.

Windows disk management and the mini tool both suggest you are using around 100Gb of a 500Gb disk.

It's the Tree Size app that's confusing things, as that's suggesting your are only using 30ish Gb.

Either way, you appear to have plenty of space.

Yes I pressed the "clean up system files" button, but it didn't free much space. It appears to be indicating a loss of space, but mabye there is no loss?

Thank you for your help. If you know what else I could do I would gladly hear it. For now I will just use the laptop and see where this takes me. Maybe another restart?
