Low disc space warning

Yes, thank you for understanding. I clearly said regedit process which means I'm trying to get rid of the warning. Under policies there should be explorer section, but it's not under there. What can I do?

The question is, why do you want to ignore the low disk space warning? It's letting you know that you have very little space on your hard drive, which means either a) it's time to add another drive, b) it's time to audit your installed programs & files to see what you really need installed or saved on the drive vs. what can be archived onto CDs or DVDs (i.e. old photos you haven't looked at in 5+ years), or c) you need to see if there's a reason why the space is filled up (i.e. too many old temp files from app installation) that could be cleaned up.

As was pointed out, just wanting to edit the registry to prevent the warning is a very bad idea, especially if you haven't investigated why it's popping up.

I know the reason though. I filled up my entire d drive as a backup, so I can retrieve music documents, and photos in case I get rid of them in the future. I know it's filled, I'm just annoyed by the constant window popping up. Is there any way to get rid of the window for now? Like I said, I tried regedit, but explorer isn't under policies.

Ignoring this warning is the equivalent of taping over the oil warning light in your automobile because the red light annoys you. Sure, it will stop the warning, but it won't fix the problem. In the case of the automobile the likely outcome is a blown engine; in the case of the disk it is a corrupted file system.

If the files on the disk are really so unimportant that it doesn't matter if they are lost then just delete some of them. At least that way you get to choose what is lost rather than letting random files - or more likely all the files - disappear. Or you can end up with the situation, which is often worse, that files are corrupted but you don't realize it.

Automobile manufactures put warning lights in for a purpose; Microsoft put this warning in their operating system for a purpose. In neither case is it there just to annoy you.

I literally have 4 mb of space left on my D drive... I put everything on there as temporary back up over a year ago. There's a lot of music that's on there that I take out from time to time, but right now I'm fine with what I have. I doubt the files are corrupted, there's just no space at all. The window has been popping up since I backed it up I believe. All it means is I crossed the storage threshold, so now Windows keeps warning me there is no space.

Always, always, always back up your registry before making changes ....
