Hello,
I just brought a new gigabyt 7950 oc but my card is not giving the frames shown in benchmarks in its reviews in games like the witcher 2 and skyrim. Is it my card , the version of reviewers game ( they use the enhanced edition while im using v1.1 for the witcher) or is it simply cux the reviewers have a killer rig? i mean their cpu rams etc r top of the line.

I get lag spikes pretty much on any maps. I am using ultra without msaa (AMD and msaa don't go well) I even turned the setting down to medium and HBAO to SBAO, the drops still occurred. So no point in keeping the setting on medium.

your specs and what resolution do u play on?

1920x1080 resolution
AMD MSI Twin Frozr III 7950
AMD 965 Black Edition 3.4 Deneb ocerclocked to 3.93GHz
OCZ Fatal1ty 750W semi-modular PSU
GA-MA770t-UD3P
8GB GSkill RAM at 1333GHz due to it being unstable at 1600 so I under clocked it.

There was this once when everyone was getting lag spikes. All my friends and even other players in the maps were complaining how their frames would drop to 0 then 45 then 60 etc etc even people with ultimate setups. But it did got fixed in one or two days. must have been a server problem or something.

I sure hopes so mate. I think DICE/EA are worse than Activison when handling hackers and stuff. EA is all about money whereas Activison cares about money and customers. Tho they both do bad job but still Activison managed it well.

I have played cod my whole life but the reason i switched was mw3. Realy, they call it mw3? they should call it mw2.5. Im hopefeul abt black ops 2 (although i dont like the crysis 2 type feel of the weapons) But as for bf 3 i was very happy i spent abt $70 for game + premium i knw thats like $10 more the cod (at that time) but i realy got a new fresh experience and about hackers..well in my country u cant play cod easily. cux the servers are modded as hell and its like a hackers paradise(and plz QUICK-SCOPING JUNKIES 😛), in bf3 there was only 1 or 2 instances of hackers and glitchers ( and yes at metro ). Im not sayin ea is beter then activision but this time activision just cashed on the already established market of mw and mw2 and with all its cons ea did set a new benchmark for graphics and multiplayer gaming this time. All bf3 need is better optimization (btw i did read somewhere that nvidia promotes the bf3 dlc's maybe thats why we amd people are not getting up to the par performance in this game , nvidia does get better frames now)

A lot of people saying its the punk buster that's beating the crap out of the systems right now. I have good ping and good FPS and yet I am stuck in one place gaining one step. They are experiencing this to.

I just thought of something that may stop the confusion and understands it a bit more. I did not make this post so keep in mind, this is just something for you to read and maybe understands about bottlenecking between GPU and CPU. It should help and it's a start.

never went up 75c. Usually between69c to 73c while playing bf3 (ultra with 4x MAA but no motion blur) and sleeping dogs (maxed out except SSAA thingy but it realy doesnot make a difference at 1080p whether u max it out or not try for urself) and fan is fixed at 51%

What about occlusion? Off or SSAO, HBAO

Mind telling me how much frame rate you gained now since you overclocked?
I don't know how well the cooling situations for MSI TWIN FROZR III, I heard they are great overclocker and keeps the card cool but I don't want to push my luck by increasing voltage due to rising heat.

my avg fps in bf 3 60+FPS and in sleeping dogs 70fps

U can reach around 1050/1575 on stock voltage. keep the fan at 50% and u will have temps about 60ish C at these clocks

Ok I have it set at 925/1350, too afraid to go any further. Have you ever use MSI After Burner?

you can easily set it at 1000/1500 mhz and set the fan at 50%. And yes i have used msi afterburner
