Hi. I just bought this laptop (ASUS A409J - PEK066TS; i7-1065G7, NVIDIA Geforce MX330 2GB, 12GB (upgraded from 4GB), 512GB SSD). As I play VALORANT, the game starts getting unplayable after around 25 minutes. I then tried resetting the laptop (Remove everything > Cloud download). Just after resetting the laptop, I downloaded and played VALORANT without altering and changing any settings.

  • First 10 mins = 100+ FPS. 10-20 mins = 50 to 100 FPS, 20-30 mins = 15 to 35 FPS.
  • When GPU & CPU has high usage, FPS is high.
  • When GPU Usage is low, CPU Usage is also low. When GPU Usage is high, CPU Usage is also high.
  • I played with low settings
  • GPU used is GPU 1 (NVIDIA Geforce MX330) by default. I did not make any settings or alter anything at all.
  • FPS is good & stable at the first 10 to 20 minutes when CPU usage is at 70% (which I consider high) and GPU usage is at 50%+ (which I consider high too). --- FPS is very bad after 25 minutes onwards when CPU & GPU Usage is at 25% (which I consider low)

This is quite weird. I am always able to play properly only for 20 minutes. And then the game starts lagging. My brother has an ASUS Vivobook S14 A411U (i5-8250U, 4GB RAM, NVIDIA Geforce MX150 2GB, 1TB HDD 512GB SSD) and he is able to play VALORANT at 60-100 FPS for 6 hours straight.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

check the cpu/gpu temp? ram/ssd usage?

and this is not urgent
nope, this is, because I actually had a gaming laptop, but now it is being serviced because it fell down, the display became retarded lol. I have a local competition in 2 weeks time and I gotta train :( Sorry for not mentioning it earlier. Ill inform about the temperatures and usages in a while :) tq

RAM Usage throughout the game was 50% to 58%. Not more and not less.
Disk Usage was at 0% to 1% only.

10 minutes after playing the game, the temperature was at 60C. 20 minutes after playing the game, the temperature was at 63C. 30 minutes after playing the game, the temperature was at 61C. I think this temperature is the normal temperature of all graphics card and this shouldn't be the problem I guess?

Besides that,
10th minute of playing the game - Around 100 FPS (CPU=40%, GPU=40%)
20th minute - Around 55 FPS (CPU=20%, GPU=22%)
30th minute - Around 20 FPS (CPU=10%, GPU=10-20%)

I feel the GPU and CPU are linked to each other for this issue. The higher the CPU and GPU usage, the higher the FPS is, in my opinion.
