I just built my new PC, with AMD fx-8350 and MSI geforce 970 on a asus m5a97 r2.
Still I only get like 30 fps on Wolfenstein on ULTRA and 30-40 on Day-Z when using all the settings for maximum FPS.
What's this all about? I buy a graphics card for almost 400 dollars and I can't max out the current games?

Solution
As stated before, It affects some people, not all. This may not even be your root cause though. It is either a hardware or driver issue, if you claim that this happens in all your games. I guess its hard to tell because there can be so many reasons for this and it could be something on your computer that we dont know about. New drivers came out today, update to those.

As for the chipset, just download the latest version for your mobo and install from there. Doesn't matter what you have right now.
Have you got your drivers up to date (Installing them manually) and have the games running on high priority and making sure they're all using all the cores? Also try using MSI Afterburnert to see GPU usage/ CPU usage/ Temps etc and see if under load u hit 90C on ur CPU or GPU. Are you sure ur not using ur integrated graphics by accident? (I'm pretty sure it doesn't have integrated graphics though so)
If neither your CPU or Graphics card is being capped then it's most likely a driver issue or a CPU/GPU issue that u might wanna talk to the company you b ought them from about.

No increase in Wolfenstein, I get 30 fps on the same setting as the guy in the youtube video, and he has the same setup.
What the hell could be wrong? It feels like I've tried everything

Okay so I'm using MSI afterplay and I will attach some pictures of the stats while playing Wolfenstein. Avg 30 FPS.

I'm not sure how to analyze this..help me out please.

Might change to dual channel then. This is so frustrating!

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 4GB

Thanks for helping me man

Missclicked "Pick as solution" again...

Anyway, So my new RAM is 1x DDR3 PC12800 - 4 GB 1600 MHZ.

The other two, said "Kingston kvr133d3n9k2/4g", I'm not sure what that last 4g stands for, but it can't be gigabytes 'cause these are only 2GB.

Anyway, I looked into this one and it seems like the old RAMs are DDR3-1333.
I looked into BIOS and it said total 8GB ram 1333.

So I guess I have to change the settings for the new RAM, is that correct?

Could I know the name of the RAM module.. and cycle time of the 1x4GB stick aswell?
Having different sticks is quite weird but having the same model of RAM stick is better. It's not harmful having different modules but your speed will be limited to 1333MHz only and not 1600MHz.
Changing the RAM settings to only 1333MHz could work just try it.

Here's a revelation that NO ONE has mentioned: DayZ is an early-alpha game that has been in development for quite some time. EVERYBODY and yes I mean EVERYBODY gets bad fps in that game. It's just the way it is optimized. This should have been a thought that crossed your mind when you saw your other games are running well.

If you're drivers are up to date, bios updated, and you ran a system cleaner, then you should be good. RAM doesn't affect gaming performance too much since graphic intensive apps refer to VRAM first. Don't get me wrong, it has an affect for sure, but it isn't going be game breaking.

Have it crossed your mind that our main issue here isn't DayZ?Look at this guy playing Wolfenstein,http://
He has about the same setup as me, and he get ~60 FPS.
Now I get about 30 FPS with the same settings. That is a difference, and that is what we're trying to solve.

I thought someone addressed Wolfenstein? Triple buffering needs to be disabled, screen space reflections turned off, and check to make sure vsync is off (both in game and control panel). Also put in this launch option to unlock the games frame rate, "+toggle com_synctotime”

If this still doesn't help, try optimizing with Geforce Experience and then come back here.

If my previous post seemed hostile to you, it wasn't meant to be. However, your post is obviously posed as an insult. Bear in mind everyone who has posted here is trying to help. Be glad you're getting feedback buddy, because no one here has to do so.

I'm sorry for being rude, I'm very grateful for all help I get.

I did what you said, but I did not get any significant FPS increase. Also, Wolfenstein is not supported by GeForce Experience.
However, I contacted the company I bought my pieces from, and they adviced me to get another identical RAM-memory, since having two different speeds is not recommended. Do you think that could have that much of an impact on a game?

Since this guy who's playing the game at 60 FPS and he has the very same components as me, something else must be wrong.

Yeah having different ram modules does have some effect. But having identical modules are always recommended.
Exactly what ferwindjacks said there.. disabling v-sync really helps alot. If you really tried that as well.
Then I'm sorry to say but maybe(maybe!), there could be a hardware issue with your PC build.

Very weird indeed. I know Wolfenstein has performance issues but I can fathom a performance difference of 30 fps (from 30 to 60 that is) would lie in the RAM.

If you don't want to get another stick, you could over/underclock your speeds and set the timers as the same. That could net you better results.

To be clear, Wolfenstein is the only game with this issue, right?

Yes, I've tried out some other games and they run quite good. In Crysis 3 though, I get like 40 FPS, which isn't too good. But I guess Wolfenstein is the real problem here.
I'm not very experienced when it comes to set RAM speeds and timers.
But if I buy another 1600MHz stick, will the motherboard detect it and set the clock to 1600MHz? Because I think the standard value is 1333MHz

You would want to make sure the stock is the same as the other, if you do go to buy one. It doesn't have to be the same, but timings might be off if they are not. I believe Aamir said something along those lines.

As for the tuning of the RAM, this is neither the time nor place to ask. I recommend looking up a guide to overvolting such things.

40 fps in Crysis 3? Seems a bit off. Have you looked up comparable benchmarks of it? Might be because you have the settings cranked up.

As I said before, the RAM isn't going to make or break a game (in general). There's another issue here. I will do research on your build and see if I come up with any issues. Will report back later.

your ram at 1333 mhz will not affect performance for more than 3% or so compared to 1600 mhz, so that is not the cause of your problem. Are you looking at temps when running games or benchmarks? If you only have l;ow performance on 1 game but can max out in the other, there might be something wrong in the game settings or files. Running other games with settings maxed out suggests there is nothing wrong with the hardware.

Well, games I can max out flawlessly are: Skyrim, CS:GO, LoL, GTA IV, Metro Last Light Redux, Assassins Creed: Black Flag, Alien: Isolation, HItman: Absolution.
Got problems with Wolfenstein, DayZ(Which is very poorly optimized as ferwindjacks said), Rust( Also poorly optimized) and I don't get 60 FPS in Far Cry 3 max settings.

Actually, with that setup you should be able to max out nearly every game.
If you want to try out something, please do dump the 2x2 ram kit and get one more single 4GB ram stick.
We can try that out as well.
RAM speeds don't affect performance but cas latency, timings and recommended voltage.. do have an affect.
So please try this out as this might be the only option otherwise... some other faulty hardware. :c
