[SOLVED] Low heaven benchmark scores with gtx 1070 and i7-9700k.

Hey.

So, I've put a new PC together a couple of weeks ago and while I'm waiting on getting paid I've been using my old MSI 1070. I decided to run heaven 4.0 this morning because proformance has been slightly disappointing. The scores were pretty low.

On 2560x1440, AAx8, ultra quality and extreme tessellation, I got just 47.1 FPS and 1109 and 1186 scores on 2 tests. 300-400 lower than the ones I've seen online. Is something wrong with my PC? It's been running for like 2 weeks. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

PC specs:
i7 9700k. No overclock yet
16gb ddr4 3000mhz
MSI gtx 1070 8gb. Only listed as 4065mb in heaven though. Again, no overclock.

Full system specs please. Especially make and model of your PSU including it's age.

GPU- MSI gtx1070 gaming X 8gb
RAM- Corsair vengeance RGB pro 2x8gb ddr4 3000mhz
PSU- seasonic snow silent Platinum 650w
Corsair h100i Platinum SE CPU cooler
Samsung 970 Evo plus NVMe m.2 drive

Also for some odd reason, ever since I've had it set up, every once in a while my screen will go black for a second then come back on. Doesn't seem to affect proformance or anything. That I can notice anyway.

Sounds like a faulty GPU. It might be bad drivers as well though.
Some things to try:
Make sure your PSU cables are fully and properly inserted to all of your components.
Reseat your GPU to the PCI slot.
Use DDU in safe mode to uninstall previous drivers and install the new ones (even if it's the same).
Use DDU in safe mode to uninstall drivers and install OLDER drivers (let's say 5-6 months back).

I'll give those things a go but considering it was my PSU that died on my last PC the GPU was plugged into you could be right about it being faulty. Perhaps it damaged a part of the GPU. Either way I'll see if your suggestions help it run any better.
