Hello , I have two routers. The main one is a Nokia G-2425G-A but its wifi range isn't enough for me so I bought a second router, a Tenda TX2 Pro and set it as an Access Point (AP).

Everything was great for 2 years until i updated the Tenda's firmware, at which point my wifi dissapeared so I reset the whole network to be able to use the Internet.

After this situation I'm limited to 100mbps through both wifi and LAN, but If i connect my LAN cable to the main Nokia router I have get the full speed of 600mbps.

Please help me with this situation because i dont know what to do anymore.

So what you are saying is you have a cable plugged between the nokia and the tenda and all device connected to the tenda only run at 100mbps. If you unplug the cable from the tenda and plug it it into a pc you get 1gbit/600mbps.

If you log into the tenda does it have a screen that will show you the speed of the ports. Maybe there are lights that mean something. What I suspect is the port on the tenda is running at 100mbps rather than 1gbit. Can you try a different port on the router. If it really is running in AP mode you should be able to use any port.

This most the time is a bad cable. It would be nice if cables worked or didn't work but they can work on some devices and not others. This is even more of a issue if you bought a fake ethernet cable. There are massive amounts of fake cables being sold. Those flat cables in particular have wire much to thin to meet the ethernet standard. You need nothing real special cat5e is fine but it must be pure copper wire with wire size 22-24. Cat6 is ok if it is cheaper but it will not run better or faster than cat5e.

Now there is a very rare chance there is something wrong with the tenda router ports. Maybe take the tenda over near the router and use a short ethernet cables and see if it will run at 1gbit. If it still has issues maybe there is some software setting that forces the ports to run at 100mbps. I really doubt this tenda routers have very basic software and even very advanced routers like asus do not have the ability to set the port speed manually.

yeah kind of ... the 2 routers are connected with a short LAN cable and i've got a separate LAN that goes from the router to my PC . So i get maximum of 100mpbs if the LAN cable is connected to the tenda, if it is connected to the Nokia i get full speed . No i can t see the speed of the ports or atleast idk where to see that.

The pc you can look at the status screen for the ethernet and see the speed. Even if it 1gbit that just means the one between the 2 routers is 100mbps. Be nice if you could really tell.

If the router was really old it might have 100mbps port but your has all gigbit ports.

well ... everything was fine until i did a firmware update of the tenda router , so i guess the ports should support higher than 100mbps speed , i have tried all of them. Also i made the Tenda working mode to Router mode and now i have access to more information but still got ~~ 100mbps . I have also tried a different LAN cable but it doesnt make difference with Wifi and LAN to the pc ...

So I went digging in the manual. That router has a lot of features for a low end device. I would leave it in router mode until you get this figured out. The only disadvantage is router behind router.

https://www.manua.ls/tenda/tx2-pro/manual?p=56 (it is page 47 of the actual document that this links to).

So if this works there is a image that shows the clients and the speed they negotiate.

So if we assume the tenda shows you pc as 1000mbps it means the that cable is good. I think there is a similar page for the wan port but it is not as obvious.

If it displays LAN devices but not the WAN then maybe you can get creative. This is the old method of making a router into a AP before they had AP mode.

First disable the DHCP server on the tenda.
Change the LAN ip to something in the subnet in used by the nokia. If the nokia uses 192.168.0.1 maybe set the tenda to 192.168.0.200. This is messy because when you change the IP you have to reconnect using that IP.
Now plug the cable going to the nokia into a lan port rather than WAN.

If we get lucky the tenda now should have 2 clients and show the speed of each. Not sure how the tenda decides on the "name" of the client and what it will think about a second router.

If both show 1000m then it should run at 1gbit. If one of them is 100mbps then that cable is likely bad

I have been thinking what if i install my previous firmware of the tenda router so everyhting might be alright then ... And my 2nd option to buy a new CAT6 ethernet cable
