Processor: AMD A12-9700P (2.5/3.4GHz)
I got a new laptop over Christmas, and I've been consistently checking up on windows 10 task manager to see how my cpu and gpu are doing during various tasks, such as idling, browsing and gaming.
I noticed one thing in particular when sat on my desktop, with nothing but task manager open - my processor was running at a higher frequency than I would expect from it, almost unnaturally so.
My utilisation may be around 10-15%, but my processor is operating anywhere from 2.6 to 3.1GHz, and I'm unable to locate what's happening.
I'm aware of the power plan settings available, and currently have it limited so it sticks at about 2.2, but I can't help wondering what's making it operate at such a high frequency and why.
If you've any ideas, I'd be more than happy to hear your suggestions.
Cheers!
