Hello, I have a sort of weird problem, I replaced my old CPU which was FX-8350 for a i5-4690k and a Z97 PC Mate motherboard to increase my performance in WoW or MMOs in general, it did increase, populated areas now run a lot better, but on the other hand the other areas for whatever reason run worse, not by a huge margin but about 10-15fps, it's like it's more GPU bound at those areas and they run worse, what's the problem ? my GPU is HD 7970 I use the same drivers as I did earlier and same settings, temps are fine as well, help would be appreciated thanks.

if you swapped the board and cpu without doing a fresh install there is a good chance its driver related issues.
There is no reason any part should run worse if everything is running well. With how WOW works heavy player areas need a lot of CPU which should obviously run better now, but the other areas should be about the same as before

I did do a fresh install, and yes the heavy player areas run a lot better but place like garrison, runs worse at some places, I am using older amd drivers though, catalyst 15.10 as crimson caused worse performance back when I had old cpu and mobo, maybe that's fixed now

Fixed it, rather strange all I did was install the Crimson 15.12 drivers again but this time it seemed to up my fps back, also I reseated my GPU don't know if that was the case or not.
