Lower fps with crossfire on r9 fury strix

i get less fps with crossfirex enabled in most games

far cry 4 and gta v for example,
specs

CPU: FX 8350
MOBO: 990fx sabertooth r2
RAM: 16gb ddr3
GPU: X2 asus r9 fury strix
PSU: lepa b800-mb

im suspecting the psu but i have no clue 😛.
i've tried reinstalling drivers / os.

Looks like your is probably a Tier 4 unit. Could very well be an issue, I'd recommend getting a Tier 1 or 2 ASAP.

Also, watch your CPU load when playing, it could be a bottleneck.

the cpu usage doesn't go over 80% on both far cry 4 and gta v with crossfire enabled and disabled

i think i still have the option to return the cards and maybe get a 980 ti
and in a month get i7-4790k

but i would like to get this working

A single Fury needs a 600w PSU. I think your PSU is under powered for 2 in a CF config. I suspect you need to be in the 1000w class to power all of that hardware.

It should certainly allow you to power your rig. That is an excellent PSU.
