https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-M-2-2-5in-SATA-Adapter/dp/B00ITJ7U20 does this work in laptops as boot drives? i doubt it will works because of the same concept of using m.2 to pcie adapter
A port multipler, inside a laptop?would port multiplier work too?
that is what im also thinking. i just want to know if it will work. and i dont mind using a sata m.2 as nvme m.2 drives are overkillit only work with sata type m.2. show on 3rd image
get a 2.5" ssd
really like using that as a windows boot drive? That adapter is only compatible with M.2 SATA drives, so it is simply adapting the form factor of M.2 to 2.5in.
It would work assuming you use an M.2 SATA drive like an MX500 M.2.
Seeing as that connect to the system via a single SATA connection, how is it supposed to present two individual drives to the PC or laptop?i know that i should buy a 2.5 inch drive instead of this adapter but i would like to see two m.2 drives in a adapter like this https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com...YK4RE9BKMMCJ&refRID=T6HKHND3YK4RE9BKMMCJ&th=1 in a laptop in jbod mode, the first drive is for boot, the other drive is for other things as my laptop doesnt have cd drive(it's 2020) to expand more drives.

JBOD is seen as a single space, you don't get to choose one for boot, the other for other things.

No, because the laptop does not have recipient ports.
