Question M.2 Not recognized.

Hello,
Got this old Asus MB -

Wanted to install an M.2 1TB

I have installed the M.2 above on my MB
Update the BIOS and drivers to latest.
Problem - The M.2 is not recognized in BIOS or in windows 10 Disk Manegment.
In BIOS i cant see anthing concerning M.2 supporst or to Enabled it

Please your thoughts

According to manual, M2_1 only supports sata type ssds, the second M2_2 slot supports nvme pcie ssds. The ssd you got is nvme and should work in second m2 slot.

Its connected to the second -
M.2 Socket 3 Type M (2242-22110)
Supports PCIe 3.0 x 4 mode

Also i can not find any setting in bios regarding M.2 or nvme... None

What specific drives do you have in there now, and what are you trying to add?

In BIOS - make sure Intel RST with Optane is disabled.
Sata controller set to AHCI.
Disable secure boot.

In windows install chipset drivers and
install NVME drivers.

Disk 0 - 256GB Windows 10 SATA SSD
Disk 1 - 1TB SATA Hard disk
The M.2 is installed but not recognized in BIOS and WINDOWS.

Tryed it but didnt work
I looked for CPU PCIe configuration option in BIOS but there is none.

Disable secure boot - Can not change that .... i'll take a photo, In MSinfo Scure boot shows disabled.

NOTE - you have to click on <Show All>, to see all drivers. By default you'll see only Intel MEI driver in chipset section.

Choose any USB install tool download. NVME driver is generic.​

Chipset doesn't matter, board manufacturer doesn't matter, windows 7 doesn't matter.​

Unzip, find NVME driver and install it.​

Right-click on inf file and choose install.​

Assuming can install/boot Windows on 2nd m2, would inf driver be required to be injected prior so system can detect it? Needing driver doesn't seem right but i wouldn't know.

I wonder if ssd hasn't been pushed in all the way in the connector.

That worked !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Right click the INF and install and immidiatly i sow the drive in Device Maneger and DM !!
I wont to boot from that drive after cloning my windows to it, How can i choose it as first device to load in BIOS if its not seen in BIOS?

After you clone your OS drive to M.2 drive, it should appear in boot priority list as a possible option.

Note - first boot from cloned drive has to be done with old drive physically disconnected.
This step is not optional.
If you fail to follow this, cloned drive gets messed up and you'll have to redo cloning.

It appeared!!!
Done cloning but didnt disconnect the old drive (Dammm) ! and just choosed the new nvme as first bood. It loads up but messed! I restart the os and now it looks like that in DM, Can i formag the 256GB old OS drive?

Sure.
Delete all partitions from old drive.
Create single partition spanning entire drive and format it/assign drive letter.
