I'm trying to figure out a storage solution for my first pc build that I hope to be doing around Christmas. After researching all of the options, I have decided to go with the Samsung - 850 EVO 250GB M.2-2280 SSD and a WD 1 TB Hard drive. However, I am confused where I would put the m.2 ssd and if it is even compatible with the motherboard I have selected. Please help! Thank you!

Simple just to get a 2.5 form ssd

Its compatible, you have 2 M.2 NGFF SATA slots onboard, you would just slide it into this and screw it down.

Get a 500G samsung 850 EVO instead of the 256gb.

I can confirm it will be plug and play as well.

Its easier than installing a regular SSD as well, as you dont need SATA cable or SATA power.

use the 1TB as storage.

Thats how I build all my computers, SSD m.2 main drive, larger disk as secondary.

You have a very nice setup. But if there's any chance that you could swing for about $70 more and purchase the 500 GB Samsung M.2 SSD as bailojustin suggests in lieu of the 250 GB model, I would strongly suggest doing so. Believe me, you'll never regret it.

The only regret you will have is not getting larger than a 256!
