then is it better to go to m.2 or ?Yes, that is a possibility.
Or, it could end up like SLI/Crossfire/Optane.
"M.2" is the form factor, the size. How it plugs in.then is it better to go to m.2 or ?
I am 99% sure it won't. DirectStorage is completely different compared to multi-GPU.Yes, that is a possibility.

I know it is completely different.I am 99% sure it won't. DirectStorage is completely different compared to multi-GPU.
Multi-GPU is very expensive, consumes a lot of power, is significantly harder to cool, the performance isn't increased by 2 times for a 2-way SLI, the VRAM does not double.
DirectStorage is used by consoles, the developers love it.
Is KINGSTON nmve good?"M.2" is the form factor, the size. How it plugs in.
NVMe vs SATA is the protocol. The type of drive, and speed (mostly).
Get a single, good quality, 2TB drive.
NVMe:
Samsung 970 EVO Plus
Crucial P5
SATA III:
Samsung 860 EVO
Crucial MX500.
yes, but I found Kinston even cheaper, so I'm interested in what it's likeYou said you found the WD 770 for $70. You didn't get it? That was a good price!
I would have included WD in the list of reputable drives.
I cant speak for kingston. I refuse to buy their products due to their past shady business practices.
tnxif you pick samsung and want to use direct storage, dont forget to not use samsung nvme driver as thats old driver which doesnt supports direct storage
And in a blind test, with one drive in the system, the vast majority of people would not be able to tell the difference between a drive in the bottom 1/3 of that list vs one in the top 1/3.Take a look: https://ssd-tester.com/m2_ssd_test.php
