Question M.2_2 recognised in disk management in BIOS but I keep getting an error when attempting to initialise

I have just built a system and it is running perfectly, except I have two M.2 NVMe drives, and one Seagate 5TB HDD. I managed to initialise and create a volume on the HDD but the second M.2 SSD will not initialise in Disk Management in Windows 11. The SSD shows up in the BIOS. To be clear, the drive Disk Management is not letting me initialise is the 'Samsung SSD 980 PRO 1TB'. Would appreciate any help, thanks.

Power off system.

Remove the disk from the system.

Re-seat the disk.

Power up system and re-try.

Try thinking outside the Windows box. Download and boot a copy of Gparted (or some other partition manager) and try using that to set up the GPT partition and whatever ntfs volume partitions you want.

I'm not sure how I would boot into that. I downloaded the ISO to a USB but cannot boot from it within the BIOS

Did you download the version marked amd64 which is required for 64 bit operating systems with secure boot? Did you use something like Rufus to create the usb stick?

Thanks for the response, I couldn't get to the BIOS screen after reseating the SSDs. I'm going to RMA this motherboard and take it from there as it seems this is a frequent issue with this board. To be clear it's the ASUS Z690-i. Thanks for your responses, I will update here once I get a new unit

Updating here if anyone comes across this issue. The unit I received was faulty. No matter what I tried it did not recognize the second M.2_2 NVMe SSD. After I RMA'd it and received a new unit. Well what can I say, it worked flawlessly upon first boot. If your unit has the same problem and all the connections are correct and seated correctly. I would RMA your unit
