I have an HP ProBook 440 G4, and I have bought a Samsung 970 Evo Plus SSD.

All the pins correctly align but there a notch on my laptop's SSD port thats restricting the insertion.

Is my machine not supportive of this hardware?

P.s- My friends with same laptop have successfully installed an M2 SATA 2280 SSD in their laptops.

Here's how the Samsung SSD looks-

https://support.hp.com/my-en/document/c05273730
from the spec, look like it only support sata type m.2 not the pcie like the 970 evo.

Hi.

Thanks but,

I checked out the HP page before ordering , accd to which ->

Mini card solid state drives¹
M.2 (NGFF) 2280 solid state drive
128 GB SATA-3 Value solid state drive
256 GB SATA-3 Value solid state drive

And samsung's is also M.2 2280, given on their website
here
