Yesterday my fire trapper met a lightning trapper in hell and we teamed
up to quest in act3/hell (our characters were lvl 75 and 76). First it
seemed that our characters would work together very well, being able to
help each other against fire and lightning immunes.
In travincal we met a few council members who are immune against fire
_and_ lightning. So we had to find other ways to kill them but our
traps. (We faced the same problem several times in the durance of hate
with other monsters later on).
During that, we tested a few of the above skills. Findings:
- Fade is useful to survive a bit longer
-> I like the shortened curse duration very much
- Mind blast is useful to keep monsters busy while whacking on them
-> Particularly useful if one player can keep the monsters stunned
while the teammates fight them
-> Converted monsters can be more annyoing than stunned monsters.
So maybe one point only is the best choice?
-> Might not work well in solo games, becuase the stun duration
is quite short and you need to cast it all over
- Venom is useful to kill monsters significantly faster.
-> The monsters that caused problems for us also lived long enough
during fights to get the full dose of poision damage. Venom
works in 0.4 seconds which is very quick.
Since none of us had the prerequs, we didn't try blade fury.
From that, my conclusion is that my new melee assassin will get quite
some points in venom, a few in fade, and probably one in mind blast.
Around clvl 60, I think I'll try to achieve this:
Primary skills:
Burst of speed: 6 (maybe too much, but spent already)
Shadow master: 17-20 (Would like to max it)
Fire blast: 20
Death sentry: 1 (CE damage doesn't scale, range seems useful enough)
Supportive skills:
Fade: 6
Mind blast: 1
Venom: 10
I'm not quite sure how to continue after clvl 60.
PS: Personally I like burst of speed very much. It allows to outrun
almost everything. Very handy if you look for waypoints in act 2 or 3
and don't actually want to kill everything along your path.
