Question MacBook Pro 2019 16 GB very slow last couple of months

MacBook Pro 2019 16 GB very slow last couple of months. Fan constantly comes on and runs high, even with no CPU load. CPU periodically runs high for long durations, goes back down close to 1% at which point it is ok. But in a while it will go above 50% without me doing anything different. Load seems to show high in Safari but might also show a bit of a load in Notes or Numbers. Worked fine until recently. Gradually uninstalling software to see if anything helps, so far nothing. Tried to reset SMC, no luck. Presently on Ventura, previously on Monterey with same issue. Ideas?

How much space left on the disk?
Open Disk Utility and run First Aid to see id the disk is in good shape.
Open Activity Monitor and see how much RAM installed apps are using.
Remove all unnecessary auto-run apps and services.
Also, reduce the number of Desktop items and Dashboard widgets
