Hey all! So, I managed to get my hands on a X79 motherboard off of eBay, and after completing the setup, I tried testing it, but I don't seem to get any display on my screen. Since it doesn't have an integrated GPU I had to use a discrete one. I tried swapping between the two that I have now (a GTX 1050 TI is on the way to me) but still no display. Everything powers and the fans come on but still nothing.

What do I do?

MACHINIST X79 motherboard
Xeon E5-2650
4gb Ram (x3)
MSI 2gb GTX 710
Radeon 7670 4gb
Aresgame 500w +80 bronze

  1. How sure are you that this thing from fleabay actually works?
  2. How sure are you that the XEON is compatible?
  3. That PSU shouldn't be used for a paperweight, much less a PC.
1. Not entirely sure, It said it was brand new. And it came in unopened packing.

2. Researching it, it show comparability with the V2 chipset

3. So... New PSU? It worked on my other build before switching to this mobo

Are you sure that a CMOS batteryb is in place ?
You are using ECC RAM memory ?
If yes to both questions,, have you done a clear CMOS ?
You mean that small battery, that looks like a watch battery. Well it didn't come with one, so I took it off of Moka's first Mobo. Not sure if I do have it place right.

I have two Convergence ram sticks and one Nanya ram all three are 4gb ddr 3

Won't lie don't know what CMOS is.
