Hello! Like many, I just picked up the 9800x3D. I also got the MAG X870 TOMAHAWK WIFI. There's a few concerning notes on their compatibility page for memory:

1.CPU memory controller quality will affect the memory operating frequency. System reliability and stability could be impact by the status of higher temperature from DDR5 memory modules.

2.The partial DDR5 memory module will remain running at 4800MT/s because of the architecture design by the Ryzen 9000 series CPU.

The second note I'm unclear about. It sounds like the 6000MHz RAM I bought will only run at 4800MT/s with the 9800x3D. What's even more confusing is if I filter for the 9xxx series CPU and type in the RAM I got it, it says the supported speed is 6000.

Yes, if you just insert the RAM sticks, turn on the computer, and don’t change anything else, the memory will run at 4800 MT/s. To get the memory to run at the rated speed (in your case, 6000 MT/s), you’ll need to go into the BIOS and enable the XMP or EXPO profile. It’s very straightforward and only takes a few clicks.

If you want to push the speed even further, that would require manual tuning, which is more complex. But you likely won’t need that—your 9800X3D should perform excellently with 6000 memory, especially if it’s CL30.
