We got a used computer from a business, after getting home, I ran
Antispywear. It detected this Mailclient.oxc. I did some research and found
it is a net nanny thing.
I deleted the file using the spywear progrm. Telus security package BTW. Now
when I have to reboot the computer I get this message. Unable to properly
register mailclient.oxc, a file has been deleted or damaged. Or something
close to that. I looked all over my hard drive for anything that could be a
net minder program but found nothing. Do I need to be concerned about this or
should I ignore it. This computer is hooked to the internet. I reran antispy
and antivirus, nothing detected.

I have an update. The spyware was from IAMBIGBROTHER.COM. It was installed
after we got the computer, but the installation was botched up and some stuff
was deleted by mistake. I would rather not clear my hard drive and reinstall
xp. Is there another option.

You should wipe the computer and install a new OS from scratch !

This is the *best advice* when getting a used computer.

NO !

When getting a used computer there are no other options but to wipe the hard disk of all
data and install the OS from scratch.

No doing so is dangerous and leaves you open to all sorts of problems. The least is
inheriting the software and problems that exist. The worse is a kelogging Trojan or other
malware that will steal data.
