Hi, I have a problem that I am fairly familiar with. I handed in my PC to an IT expert once when this happened and all he did was change one or two settings in the BIOS and then it worked properly. I think the cause of this was the power button getting stuck when I turned it on and that somehow resets something. My PC won't start now, just gives me the option to "Start normally" or to go into System Recovery mode, which doesn't work. Can anyone help me out?

Solution
that I don't know but its something to check if the drive was set up on ahci and windows loaded on that it will not boot if the sata ports defaulted back to ide

all you can do is try it and see
one thing to check is if the hard drive setting was for ahci but the recovery set the sata back to ide it wount boot look at the sata settings in the bios and see if that change took place and change it [ most updating or recovery will set the bios sata ports to ide default. most times if windows is loaded with the sata ports set to ahci it will not boot on the ide setting ]
