Making a gaming computer, need help

Is a gtx 760 4gb Video card compatible with Asus Z87-A ATX LGA1150 motherboard? If so is this better than the Gigabyte Radeon HD 7970 3GB. If the gtx 760 4gb is better than what motherboard would support it. I've heard this is the video card to go with if you're graphics card for an extra year or two. Thanks.

Sorry for the grammar it's late, I meant if the gtx is better but can't run on that motherboard, what motherboard would work, and the other stuff you can ignore after that sentence

Motherboard will support both, but 7979 will be faster 10~15%
Get GTX 770 2GB it would be better choice, GTX 770 is faster than 7970
