MAME32 version question

I have found that I have a full set of roms for mame32 0.67
I have been out of the mame thing for quite a while and see that there
have been many updates. Is there really a reason for someone like me
to get the latest version? I know that they have emulated more games
however, wouldn't that mainly be the newer ones? I guess what I am
saying is ... Is there really a reason to upgrade?

Thanks in advance

If all the games you like to play are in your current set and all work
as you like, then no.

Hi,

> Is there really a reason to upgrade?

[ ] You have the feeling you have too much disk space and Internet
transfer volume.

[ ] You are missing one or more specific games from the past that
does not work in .67 but does in a later version.

[ ] Emulation of one or more of your favorites has improved between
.67 and today.

If you checked one or more of the above you may have reason to
update but beware that you run the risk of catching Pokeromitis and
will have to continuously update from now on until eternity or not
be able to sleep at night because you are missing the color-PROM for
some obscure Korean Mahjongg-game you can't play anyway because you
don't understand what it's all about.

That said should you decide to upgrade I suggest you use bittorrent.
Visit http://www.pleasuredome.org.uk/ to find out how.

Ciao, MM

Its possible that bugs have been fixed, or partial emulations have been
improved.

They aren't adding games in chronological order. They just get added as
people write drivers for them. There are still many titles from all over
the last 25 years that aren't emulated in mame for all kinds of reasons.

If you are happy with what you've got, then no, there's no real reason
to upgrade.

Thanks for all the responses from all of you.
I do indeed have a full rom set for mame .67 and they are all working
as I remember using clrmame and making sure of that quite a while ago.
I believe I have all the games that I wanted. I am mainly a video game
junkie from the late 70's early 80's. I wish there was an easy way for
me to see the new games added from .67 to what are we at now .98???
That way I could probably determine whether or not it was worth it.

I think I could check the 1st and 3rd items.
I definitely have the space and internet transfer volume.
Also I think the game Killer Instinct had some problems with my
version.
