Manhattan USB 2.0 to SATA adapter problems

So i got the usb to sata adapter hooked up to a hitachi 2.5 160gb and my pc knows its there but i cant do anything with it. In my computer nothing shows up and in the device manager it shows up though. But when i look at it in the create hard drive or partitions it comes up witn no drive letter and will not allow me to change anything at all. Any ideas on what to do, tomorrow im goin to try to hook it up through the internal sata then try the adapter but for now im stumped.

well just figured it out, just overlooked something small and thats all
