Hi, I have been playing COD (Cold War, Vanguard, MW) on my gaming laptop as well as many other games for literal years on high settings. I use the optimized settings from NVIDIA Experience for the most part and have NEVER had any issues. I was playing Cold War last week and it ran great. The next day, I started to experience massive FPS drops (from about 190 down to 15-20). After a few minutes, it will recover, and then happen again. Even when I decrease everything down to the lowest settings, this issue still occurs. This is making my games literally unplayable.
I have tried pretty much everything. I have adjusted graphics settings in game, inside the NVIDIA control panel, updated my graphics driver, monitored CPU&GPU temps, installed a clean version of windows 10, scanned for malware, checked for corrupt system files, and every other solution I have come across online, but nothing seems to fix the problem.
I've noticed that when the stutter starts to occur, my GPU utilization jumps to 100% while my CPU says relatively consistent the entire time (so this makes me feel like maybe my GPU is just going bad?)
Here are my specs:
Asus ROG Zephyrus
i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz
32GB RAM
GeForce RTX 2060
1TB SSD
If anyone has any insight on this/any weird fixes they've encountered, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks!
