https://www.notebookcheck.net/Asus-GL704GM-DH74.360786.0.html is my exact current setup, I have massive fps stutters 80-100 -> 10-15 fps and gpu usage skyrockets, could it be because of a bios update that doesnt go well with the components ? I have repasted my computer, cleaned out the fans, replaced the fans, reset windows, reinstalled the game on my ssd, tried running the game in safe mode, everything. I want to know if its a good idea to go back to my original bios update because i feel like back when i didnt have it updated it didn't stutter. Is it safe to go back to an older bios update? If so, how do I?

I wouldn't downgrade the BIOS. Always move forward.

reset windows
You could've reinstalled the OS in offline mode, instead of a reset. Speaking of OS, what OS are you working with?

Try and run DDU to remove all GPU drivers(Intel, AMD and Nvidia) in Safe Mode, then manually reinstall with the latest GPU driver sourced from Nvidia's support site, here, in an elevated command.

I disagree with you as I downgraded my BIOS after my z790 had this added into the new BIOS

"1. Updated with Intel microcode 0x12B to address elevated voltage requests during idle or light activity, further mitigating Vmin Shift instability issues.
2. The option to disable C1E in the BIOS has been removed to ensure it remains enabled, reducing processor stress and maintaining stability per Intel's recommendation."

I couldn't disable something that is pretty significant and I was a bit shocked to see that restriction

"1.The new BIOS includes Intel microcode 0x129 to enhance the stability of Intel Core 13th and 14th Gen processors.
2.The factory default settings are set to Intel Default Settings, which now include non-K processors (the K series were already included in previous versions).

Updating this BIOS will simultaneously update the corresponding Intel ME to version 16.1.30.2307v4. Please note after you update this BIOS, the ME version remains the updated one even if you roll back to an older BIOS later."

Did you read through the thread and the link OP's provided before responding? You're comparing a Z790 desktop chipset with an HM370 mobile platform chipset, the measures Intel are taking for their 13th/14th gen are out of necessity to plug holes in their ship.

Please stay on topic.
