Phew. digging this post from 3 months ago is like digging it from a the grave of king tut. Anyway we now know that matrox has released a new driver to solve all w2k problems  and now i got myself a new monitor which means i can create websites in a breeze! long live matrox!

Currently got a 2Mb Mystique in my P150, and just ordered a new machine (this morning) Athlon 900, ... with G450! I am so looking forward to having the dual head capability...

I was starting to think that everyone in the world owns geforce cards ;-)

After seeing this thread for the 2nd time, I'm reminded of Yogi Berra's remark "it's deja vu all over again".

Anyhow, just about the time this thread originated, I bought a G450 (16MB). While I have no need for the DH feature, I couldn't be happier with the image-quality it delivers (I can't imagine a better card for 2D)!

BTW, am I the only guy left who spends most of his PC-time working in 2D? Nowadays, no video-card reviewer seems to pay much attention to that fundamental aspect of performance. I realize that image-quality is a subjective thing, but even so, I think that it should play a much more important role in video-card evaluations.

People who demand very good 2D support is losing out since most people are into 3D! I used a Radeon with Photoshop 1GHz and it's like... ew....

Count me in the (apparent minority) 2D club. Both my wife's PC and mine have G450's, not for its DH, but because we are both into photo-editing and we were convinced that Matrox delivered the very best image-quality.

And I too would like to see serious attention given to 2D quality in future video card reviews!

I'm building a new system, and, being mostly a Photoshop user, I was puzzled as to why all reviews and forums had 3D as an overuling consideration. But got some advice on a couple of forums and finally selected, for its image quality virtues, a Matrox Millennium G450, for a very good price.
By the way, which bios settings would you consider optimal for this card? I have an ABIT KT7A-Raid and an AMD Tbird 1.2GHz.
