What is the Max safe running temp for AMD XP 2400+, Cel 2.4 and P4's, and does this temp vary for the different types of P4's?

Just go on AMD/Intel's site they'll give you a much more accurate temp than we can provide.

scotchen is right
but also the P4's throttle themself if temps are too high so youll actually know when your system is to hot if it starts lagging alot... as for AXP max temp are more critical cuz you can burn your cpu if it overheat some...

Im around those temps with my P4 too but room temp might be a few degrees cooler...anything under 70(max under heavy load) is all good IMO.

A little news for you. The Amds have an ondie temp control now. They dont burn anymore. It's only been like that for a year and a half, so not everyone knows yet.
