[SOLVED] Max sata 6Gbps ports with PCIe 3.0 1x

I am planning to buy a sata expansion card for my Asus B560-PLUS mobo.
This one ships to my country.

What is the max number of ports that can be connected to a single PCIe 3.0 x1 slot?

As I understand x1 slot bandwidth is 1 Gbps with PCI 3.0. Sata 3.0 can transfer at max of 600 Mbps? 2 ports in full use can saturate the PCI x1 slot bandwidth even though I might have more ports.

Is my understanding correct?
I ask this as I notice even 10 port sata cards.

sure it have multiple port. doesn't mean you can use them at max speed at the same time
