Maximus vi extreme and g4me zero

I own a maximus vi extreme motherboard and I am looking into buying a g4me zero due to their high sound quality and mic built in. I read a few reviews that said your really need a headphone amp and/or sound card to get the most out of these. Is the onboard sound going to be enough for these? Should I get a sound card to optimize these. Not really a question of money. Kinda new to pc audio so I appreciate your help.

That's only if you have Audiophile headphones. Please don't believe that. If you're gaming, the on board audio on the Maximus VI Extreme is very good, delivering pretty good levels of bass for an on board solution.
