Good afternoon

My wife has this external disk full of photos and films from her trips and is not being read by any computer.
Could you please, help me?
I've tried uninstalling and reintalling drivers from the device manager to no avail.
Could you please lend me a hand?
thanks in advance

Sergio

Look in Disk Management and see if it shows up. If it's there, but doesn't show a partition, then it has failed in some way and lost the partition table. You might be able to run recovery software then that will scan for partitions and files to repair them (or recover them to copy to another drive, but they may or may not have folder structure or names), but do NOT try to create any new partitions as you'll just be damaging more files and making recovery harder. If they are very important files, don't do anything and locate a recovery service that will charge a fee to get the files back. The fact that it IS at least visible as a device is a good sign that they would succeed at least mostly.

A quick search shows MaxOne to not be very reliable (2 month lifetimes), and they're obviously not actually making their own drives but just putting other brands into cases and branding the controller data. Who knows if the drives in them are actually brand new or not; given the price, I can't see how they would be. They're in the class of "no-name Chinese random name" products that are half to a third of the price of products from reputable brands, barely costing more than a bare internal hard drive.
