Maxtor External 3000LE Hard Drive

I recently had to in-stall a new HD and since doing so I
am un-able to get my HD to work.
In device manager it shows up as working properly but in
Admin. Services ( disk management )it does not show up at
all. I have tried everything I can think of and hope
someone can help me here.

I am running Windows XP Pro, AMD 2600. 1024 memory
