MB/CPU suggestions

I'm looking to purchase an
Intel core i7 920 processor from newegg but I have no idea what combo or individual mb/cpu to buy. Can anyone suggest what I might buy? I'm a gamer so I hear that processor / mb is the way to go.

The Asus P6t (or deluxe) seem to be very popular around here.

Gigabyte's x58 also is recommended often.

Me personally? I'm thinking an old 939 with a venice core myself

Thanks I was looking at the P6t but there are so many of them. Which would you get? I'm kind of a noob with all the other specs. Once I decide which mb to get then the question is what chip. Also, is there a good site that budles the mb/chips other than newegg?
