I've decided to get a mechanical keyboard, the corsair vengeance K70 to be exact.

I'm not sure whether I want green, blue, brown or red. So, if you could lend me your opinion, I'd be very grateful.

I'm going to use my computer for plenty of gaming and plenty of work also. Therefore, a good balance between typing and gaming is what I'm looking for.

Clicking isn't a main priority, but it'd be a nice bonus.

If you already made the choice for this keyboard, the rest is a matter of taste for the color.
Asking me personally, I would say I'd choose brown. I wouldn't care about colors itself but about eye comfort in long gaming sessions (and additionally, color distraction) so I would choose a neutral color to look in the corner of my eyes instead of a bright one

Hey guys. I've decided to get a mechanical keyboard, the corsair vengeance K70 to be exact.

I'm not sure whether I want a green switch, a blue switch, a brown switch or a red switch. So, if you could lend me your opinion, I'd be very grateful.

I'm going to use my computer for plenty of gaming and plenty of work also. Therefore, a good balance between typing and gaming is what I'm looking for. I heard brown suits this quite good, although I'm not sure.

Clicking in the keyboard isn't a main priority, but it'd be a nice bonus.

I've used brown and red switches just to compare how well I could type on them. I typed much more accurately on the brown switches as opposed to reds, but people find reds to be master race for gaming situations because of the linear resistance. I gamed with both reds and browns in Counter Strike Go, Guild Wars 2, Pay Day 2, and Chivalry. Browns did not hold me back at all and felt no difference in results of the switch affecting my performance. I personally like brown because it is so well balanced for all around use, but if you only type a little then reds might be better suited if you're a heavy gamer. Green and Blue are considered to be typing switches and do not think they are any good for gaming, they are more for Journalists or Coders in my opinion and are too loud if you play with friends online in skype.

I'll be doing a fair bit of work on it, about 1/3 of my time will be work. So shall I go with brown or blue? How bad is the red when it comes to typos?

well, maybe with enough adjustment and time invested in using reds, you could maybe become better at typing on them in time, but your fingers will type very naturally on the browns or blues. About 90% of gamers who use their keyboard for multitasking will tell you to go with the brown switch because Blues are known to have a double tap problem because of how pronounced the bump is in the blue switch where as the brown has a light bump that will not have this issue. So for you, I would be choosing between Reds or Browns. Everyone will have their own preference. Usually people who own cherry mx red keyboards will have a secondary cherry blue keyboard just for their typing needs, where brown meets the medium and you don't have to buy two keyboards for each purpose.

I use brown myself. Absolutely fantastic and highly recommended. The force needed to actuate on a my keyboard is notably less than a membrane keyboard. After a bit of adjusting I type faster and quieter on browns with less fatigue. It's great.

Yea same here, what board do you have, I currently own the cm storm quickfire rapid (brown switch)

I'm using the Thermaltake Poseidon keyboard.

Funny, that was the board I was originally going to order, but Amazon at the time had the Quickfire Rapid on sale for only $60 and couldn't pass it up.
