I need a new keyboard but the QWERTY version is a lot cheaper than the AZERTY version. Is it possible to just change the keys of the QWERTY keyboard and make it an AZERTY keyboard? :) The keyboard that I like is mechanical btw :)

you should be able to set AZERTY under windows language settings. since mechanical keys are removable and since only the Q/W/A/Z are swapped and are all the same size it should be a simple fix to change over. buying a specific layout keyboard (in terms of dvorak/qwerty/azerty only) is really only necessary on keyboards without replaceable keys. the only reason to buy a specific keyboard anymore is if you need a specific layout with additional or different shaped keys - most notably foreign keyboard layouts with extra keys or if you have a preference for L shaped enter keys/small delete or both of equal size.

ah, wasnt aware they had all of those changed as well. looking at a diagram between the two...

as far as getting the keyboard to function, should be possible. however given that they provide the icons on different keys totally than qwerty you wont be able to have the correct icons on the correct keys (for symbols... for letters you would be fine).

if you bought a well known keyboard you might be able to get keycaps cheaper than an azerty version. perhaps take a look for caps.
