My CPU is the same Intel chip listed as a minimum system requirements. My old video card wouldn't have been able to handle it but my GTX 460 SE, can. I'm safe, for now.

I can't wait to play this. Mechwarrior 2 came as a special optimized edition with the 2MB Ati Rage II+ in my first PC and I have been a fan of the series since.

I think he's got his CPU specs a little mixed up with GPU specs. What I mean is, I'm sure even the earliest core 2 duo would run this game, so long as the user has a decent video card. I haven't seen a game yet, to this day, that "requires" what this guy is suggesting. So long as you have a fast video card, I'm sure the game will be more than playable.

In game cash? I will gladly py for a new MechWarrior game, but I will not play a 'Pay to Win' game.
On another note, Chromehounds on the Xbox 360 was an amazing game. Sega decided to shut the servers off without any announced reason quite a while back. I've been waiting for a good new mech game since then.
A lot of people didn't like Chromehounds because of the slow gameplay, but I thought it was amazing. Near limitless customization, wonderful ballistic physics, team gameplay.

So, MechWarrior Online; do you deserve my money?

with direct x 9, i have seen this.

most games with decent graphics, the cpu is almost irrelevant.
if the game pushes graphics, like witcher 2, the cpu becomes a very heavy sticking point.
this is alleviated if the game offers dx11, like blacklight, which preforms worse on dx9 (or 10 i forget what i had it set to) and than when dx11 (no dx11 specific features enabled though) was enabled, the game ran better over all.

with this being tied to dx9, i can believe those cpu requirements if the gpu requirements are correct.

and lets also not forget games like armaII that almost require a fast quad core (from what i hear)

[citation][nom]Kamen_BG[/nom]i think by AMD Athlon II X4 650 they meant AMD Phenom II X4 840[/citation]
The average consumer buys an Athlon, not a Phenom.... Phenom is higher end.

The point Kamen was trying to make is that there is no Athlon II X4 650. AMD made an Athlon II X4 650 but named it Phenom II X4 840 (linky). Good catch Kamen.

[citation][nom]doron[/nom]Wow, the minimum system requirements are really high especially for an online game. Graphics should (hopefully) be amazing.[/citation]

Minimum hardware is 6 year old components, hardly that high.
