Do some research and you'll find a "Mech Warrior" movie has been stuck in developement hell for a few years now. Wonder if a jumpstart for it has came about since the mention of a Robotech movie is in the works.
Is it just me, or would anyone else really like to see a properly executed Warhammer 40,000 film series, perhaps based around the Horus Heresy, and using motion capture animation (like the 2007 Beowulf film)? I say motion capture because it would allow you to use real film actors, while also having a good medium to convey the epic sci-fi scale without looking cheesy.
hey it's Mech Warrior - sure it needs a story to have substance but it will need a TON of mech fighting, battles, and blowing buildings, things, and other mechs up. I don't want some first edition Hulk type movie with too much story and barely any "Hulk Smash!". That would make the movie just as bad if we see like 3 scenes of the actual mechs.

I sure hope you are right arlandi - geez if people wanna see her that much do a google search and download all you want - even make her your wallpaper already but geez come on people. I won't say Megan Fox is a terrible actress but really - is she that good either? Just because she got side hitched to Transformers for some eye candy doesn't make her an actress. I cringe just thinking she might be Aspen in a Fathom movie. =\ There is way better actresses out there that look just as good or better.
Tobey MacQuire does supposidly own the rights (in developement since 2005) to the "Robotech" movie. However it seems in the wake of Disney aquireing Marvel property rights they've pushed him out of Spidey 4 in order to a reboot with younger (less salary hungry / with script approval) actors. If Tobey wanted to green light his Robotech movie now in go into full production Mechwarrior (in develpment since 2003) would have to push ahead as well. Both would attempt to rush production in order to beat the other to the box office and not look the poorer cousin. I foresee problems with both productions proceeding at once. Since both have a sorted and messy legal history between them. It seems more likey that one will kill the other through such silly "ceast and desist" nonsence before any script is officially penned for either. Thus I am doubtful either will ever be made.
