I have a medialink n 300 router and uverse 2wire router. I have followed the following guide and once complete any computers connected to the medialink have no internet access: http://www.sbbala.com/uverse/pg2.html
The *only* configuration that works is:
medialink "WAN" port connected to a 2wire ethernet port
2wire - default settings (no DMZ/pinhole set up for the medialink, dhcp enabled)
medialink - default settings (dhcp enabled, firewall enabled)
With those settings any computer connected to the medialink has internet (and can access the uverse routern ui at 192.168.1.254 and the medialink router ui at 192.168.8.1).
I guess I shouldn't worry, since everything works (skype, gaming, connecting to my work network via vpn), but I'm confused as to why the guide resulted in no internet access. Is it OK to have both DHCP and both firewalls running?
