Mediashout users I need some help with 3 outputs

I want to use Mediashout at my church to output three different contents on three different screens from one PC.

What I want to do:
Projector: Slideshow
TV on rear wall: Speaker notes or "stage show"
Computer monitor: controls Mediashout via normal windows PC (media shout control window)

What we are currently doing
Currently we are only able to output 2 different contents: one VGA output goes into a VGA multiplier and the same content is displayed on the projector and the TV on the rear wall.

The other VGA output goes to the computer monitor and shows the control window.


So I need to get a card that can display 3 discrete outputs and get rid of the VGA multiplier box.

Will the Asus EAH6950 do this? I would want ONE DVI going to the projector, ONE DVI going to the TV, and one display port going to the PC monitor...ALL 3 screens displaying different content.

Is this the right setup for this? Thanks.

I've never used Media shout, but the 6950 can output to up to six displays (2 DVI and 4 display port).

From what you've described the 6950 is overkill and probably incompatible with your current power supply. If all you want is three displays you could easily get by with a 6750 which takes far less power.

I'm using an Antec 400W 80+ bronze certified PSU. I need to see if it even has 2 PCIe power connections and it may be borderline for wattage. I hadn't considered the 6750. I didn't think it did more than two video outputs. The only non-Matrox that I found right away was the 6950. 6750 fits in the church's budget alot better and the PSU should be fine.

the VGA multiplier is also limiting the resolution that we can run the TV and the projector at since it's all VGA cable. I'm going to have to run a new DVI cable to the projector in the ceiling yay.

It's going to be hard to get a monitor that has a Display port input. Can you get a cable that is Display port to HDMI? Thanks for your help.

Actually, I don't think what you're saying is true. I think you can ONLY use the 2 x DVI outs to display the SAME thing ie mirroring. This is from the AMD 6750 page:

Use of 3 or more displays with AMD Eyefinity technology requires a DisplayPort-capable panel or an AMD Eyefinity validated dongle. See http://www.amd.com/EyefinityDongles for a list of validated DisplayPort dongles.

So there is no way to do DVI to the projector, DVI to the TV and then HDMI to the monitor as I was saying.

the AMD page for the 6750 says it requires a 450W power supply, but my power supply calculator using a 6790 says that I'm not even close to 400 Watts under 90% load. Thoughts?

Can I get someone to validate this? It can't be that hard. Will the 6750 output 3 independent displays DVI, DVI and HDMI?

With any graphics card, you can only output two sources. You have to have two video cards. This is the only way you can display 3 different sources. Two from the main card, and one from the second card. MediaShout does have a USB output source that will give you a third display. I think it was around $90. But you can probably find one cheaper online. Hope this helps you out.
