Mega zoom Camera or SLR for wildlife photography

I am planning to buy a Digital Camera for wildlife photography. I am not a professional photographer, it is my hobby. My first choice is Digital SLR, but my budget is not permit to buy zoom Lens for it 🙁 So I am going to buy a mega zoom camera. Please suggest me a good Mega Zoom camera within a budget 750 $. Preferred brand Canon, Nikon & Sony

You could buy a complete Olympus SLR system complete with zoom lens for the same price as one of the above with a standard lens. I did just that, no regrets.

This cam is a great all round and has supurb megazoom.
