Since Installing a new 16gb memory card, my computer will suddenly crash at random times. The crashes can occur 5 minutes after boot with no applications running. I know if I remove the memory I will have no issue (because I have in the past).

What I see when the computer crashes:
  • The computer powers off, and then immediately powers back on.
  • I have never seen a blue screen
  • The computer always restarts and runs without issue (until it crashes again)
  • I have not been able to find crash dumps / and errors or logging in the past to help me figure out what is going on.
Things I have done:
  • run windows memory test with no issues found
  • switches the physical memory into different slots
  • Attempted to verify that the memory is compatible by using crucial hardware scan and looking up my motherboard.
Because my return date has passed, I am looking for suggestions on how I can stop the crashes.

Let me know if I can clarify anything.

Run MemTest...

As for how you can 'fix' it, it really depends what the problem is. If it's only crashing at higher speeds etc, lowering speed/loosening timings might help...

Is this the only memory you have installed? Or are you mixing/matching with other kits?

Mixing and matching. When I ran the 16gb alone, it still crashed. Is memtest86 better than the windows 10 tool? Regardless I will give it a go. I do not know anything about speeds, is there a resource you could link?
